ACR backs updated coverage for peripheral artery disease care in Washington State.
Read moreThe Washington State Health Care Authority Health Technology Clinical Committee (HTCC) reviewed balloon angioplasty and stenting for lower extremity peripheral artery disease evidence Nov. 21. ACR® participated in the discussion along with the Society of Interventional Radiology, Society for Vascular Surgery, Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and the Outpatient Endovascular and Interventional Society. ACR began monitoring this topic in August 2025.
HTCC issued draft findings and a coverage decision that are open for public comment until Dec. 16. The coverage determination is for Endovascular therapy for activity-limiting intermittent claudication and chronic limb-threatening ischemia as a covered benefit with conditions. ACR members who perform these procedures are encouraged to submit feedback. Email comments to shtap@hca.wa.gov.
Final findings and coverage decisions will be published in March. Meeting materials and presentations are on the HTCC website.
